Damon Christofilis
President & Owner
Damon is a native Texan who started his college education at the University of Texas at Austin studying International Business. After working almost 3 years in the construction industry to fund his education, Damon transferred to Texas A&M University where he graduated with a B.S. in Construction Management in 1989. He came to San Antonio in 1994 and in 2000, he partnered with Art Burdick to form Burdick & Christofilis Custom Homes. Together, with his Project Manager Jason Hurt, they have managed the design and construction of over 100 homes in the Boerne area; primarily in Cordillera Ranch where he and his wife Sherry have resided since 2002. In 2011, he was named “Builder of the Year” and in 2012 his team garnered the Summit Award for Best Product by the Greater San Antonio Builders Association. In 2015, his team collaborated with Barbara Burger of Studio Domaine Design and won 3 awards for a custom home in Cordillera Ranch. You can see a fuller list of awards Damon has been associated with on our “Press” tab on our website. Damon is fluent in Spanish, loves working outdoors, going to Aggie football games and the people who choose to join him and Sherry as residents of Cordillera Ranch. Christofilis Custom Homes was formed in 2016 in order to facilitate Art Burdick’s pre-retirement interests and allow Damon to continue his passion of “exceeding our owner’s expectations by meeting ours.”

Sherry Christofilis
Marketing and Sales
Sherry Christofilis is a native Texan, was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She started her career in the insurance business with her mother’s Independent Insurance Agency back in 1985. Then in 1989 went to work for a large Insurance Brokerage firm, Elton George & Co., where she was a Marketing Representative & Public Relations for a territory that took her all over Texas. When her husband Damon was transferred to San Antonio to help start up a Perry Homes division, one of the agencies that was her client, Hotchkiss Insurance Agency, knew her working ethics and wanted to partner up with her to start an Insurance Agency in San Antonio. The agency specialized in homebuilders, suppliers & subcontractors. She insured almost all of the builders in San Antonio, Boerne, New Braunfels, Kerrville & Fredericksburg area. She opened up offices in all of those cities. Her business was very successful, but it took her away from her family because of all of the travel to all the cities and the corporate office in Houston. In 2007 Sherry decided it was time to sell her partnership and to be a Mom and a Wife. She and Damon have been using their personal residence as Model Home in Cordillera Ranch since 2002. A lot of the clients and neighbors loved what Sherry had done with her home that they wanted her to help with decorating their homes. A lot of the Cordillera residents loved their home and location, but were desirous of updating different facets of the home to make them more current. She found that many people didn’t know who to go to for decorating ideas in Cordillera Ranch so she created a company that worked with other builders and homeowners in the Boerne area. She used access to all of the best subcontractors and suppliers in the Hill Country area that she and her husband have built with over the years.
